Napa Valley Support Services Together we make a difference! Providing supports to adults with disabilities since 1956.

Napa Valley Support Services has been providing services to adults with developmental disabilities since 1956. It was started by a group of concerned parents who wanted meaningful activities for their children and has since grown from a single day program for 10 adults into three programs that provide services to more than 375 individuals with disabilities annually. In our three programs, Napa Per

sonnel Systems, Imperial Way Program, and Brown Street Gallery, we focus on quality-of-life issues specific to adults with disabilities. These programs offer our clients opportunities to earn income through their own labor, to express themselves through the arts, to learn at a pace that accommodates their needs, and to demonstrate to themselves and to others that they are contributing members of society.

Today was a career exploration day for Aaron and his job coach, Rick, who decided to check out the Napa County Airport. What started as a spontaneous visit turned into a guided tour of the airfield, where Aaron got an up-close look at aircraft and learned more about airport operations.

Experiences like these are why community inclusion matters. By exploring new places and meeting new people, individuals can discover interests and opportunities they never knew existed, and spark creative employment ideas from those connections.

Thank you to the airport staff for making Aaron's day (and Rick’s!) so memorable!

We’re so proud to celebrate our Board President, Robert Nations who was recognized with the Excellence in Board Leadership Award at last Thursday’s Heart of Napa Awards hosted by CVNL Center for Volunteer & Nonprofit Leadership

Robert’s leadership, heart for service, and deep commitment to our mission make a difference every single day; and not just for NVSS, but for the entire Napa community. We’re incredibly lucky to have him guiding our board.

We’re also grateful that our programs received a generous donation as part of this recognition. You can bet we’ll be putting it to good use supporting our programs, expanding opportunities, and continuing to show what’s possible when people are given the support they deserve.
