I say this with love, but I am no longer accepting “I’m too old for that” (especially from people in their 30s and 40s 🫣)
Because while you’re telling me you’re too old to start running, lifting, playing a new sport, there are women in doing just that in their 60s and 70s. On top of that: THEY’RE CRUSHING IT.
The research supports this too. You can still build strength, improve functional capacity, and adapt to new training well into your 80s (and probably beyond).
Does aging still matter? YES. Of course it does. Your workout at 40 is probably a lot different than it was at 20 and it will continue to evolve and change with you as you age. But outright saying you’re too old to do something- no.
You’ve got a lot more life to live and a lot more movement ahead of you. What have you been avoiding because you’re “too old?”
