Rain can sometimes affect your pool's water chemistry. Because rain water can be acidic, it can affect your pool's pH balance. After a heavy rain, you also have a lot of extra water in the pool that can dilute the chemistry. Not to mention all the contaminates the rain washes in you pool. It’s important to get your pool water back in balance after a good rain.

Don’t let this happen to your filter element. Pool filter cartridges need to be cleaned when the pressure gauge rises 8 PSI (pounds per square inch) above normal operating pressure. When the time frame in between this increase in pressure begins to shorten significantly, the filter cartridge probably needs to be replaced.
