This is Cancer 😢 My second dinner every night. While I hate taking this many meds….I’m grateful for the work they put in fighting the beast. And I know there are probably people who have it much worse than me, but I wouldn’t wish this on my worst enemy.
Still fighting, another chemo Monday in the books.💙🩵💙🩵💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻

It’s here…….the 4 (‼️) year anniversary of my Diagnosis.…..last year I posted that I had mixed emotions about it…..I still do, and maybe always will.

Once again I am grateful to be here to see another year past it. We’ve all had THAT day. Where life will never be the same as it was, maybe for the better, maybe for the worse. As for me……I’m going to choose for the better. It’s a war….and each battle that I place in the win column just makes a better, more powerful me. I’m nervous for the future of course, but I can tell you that I’ll always be kicking and screaming against this beast called Cancer…..and I am not above fighting dirty! I’m so very thankful for all of the generous and highly intelligent medical professionals that I have going round for round with me!

Most of all I’m thankful for all of you in the dregs with me day in and day out. You’re the real heroes. You allow me some self pity but never allow me to wallow in it. You pull me up by the boot straps when my knees want to buckle. You’re often the voice that I hear in my mind when it starts to get dark. Sometimes it’s a kind word, a well timed text, or some dark humor in the corner. Whenever and whatever the case may be, I cannot thank you enough…..it’s difficult to put into words just how much strength you’ve given me to keep putting one foot in front of the other. So, I hope a simple but heartfelt Thank You will suffice!

If you’ve been following my journey at all, you know how much weight I put into the tumor markers! This is from today!!!!! To put it in perspective it was 3.2 last month! And my labs overall today were awesome! My liver enzymes were back in normal ranges too! My echocardiogram was good. Next up is a CT scan in August. Thank you so much for your continued prayers and support……it’s working!!!!!

Speaking of……I did get results today. The spot in my Peritoneum/Mesentary is unchanged. It is measuring at 1 cm…..which is what is was measuring previously. And the fluid collection in my right lower abdomen is smaller. So overall good news! It means the treatments are keeping the Beast at bay…..which I will take with a smile!

*You are not defined by your diagnosis!
*You are braver than you believe and stronger than you think!
*Every step you take is a victory!

A “Cancer Survivor” is defined as anyone living with a history of cancer - from the moment of diagnosis through the remainder of life.

In my world I honor all the warriors past, present and future. Even those who fought battles but lost the war. The strength I’ve found in other’s journeys, inspire me in mine. I hope to be a light to others even though I flicker from time to time. This month and for all the months to come…..I will always strive to see the person not the diagnosis. Keep fighting and I’ll do the same. 💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻💪🏻
