Touching your food is such an underrated way to improve your health.πŸ’₯

1. It’s an energetic exchange.
2. Food has frequency.
3. It connects you to your food.
4. It strengthens your intuition.
5. It makes food taste better (if for no other reason than because you get to select the best items from the store)!

So many of us are running around at 100 MPH each day that we don’t stop to choose our own food items at the store (food delivery, anyone?) let alone prepare real food meals for ourselves. I believe meal preparation is a lost art. πŸ–ΌοΈ

In addition to all of the above benefits, touching our food and participating in our own meal preparation gets our digestive system β€” and in turn our body β€” ready to accept the nutrients from our food. πŸ₯˜

Think of meal time as ceremonial. Get involved in your food preparation. I know that we are all busy, but I believe that consistently outsourcing our food preparation to convenience stores, restaurants, food delivery services like Door Dash & Uber Eats, and heaven forbid fast-food chains negatively impacts our health. Setting aside the ingredients and general lack of nutrition in many of those items, it removes our connection to how we nourish ourselves.πŸ₯—

Consider challenging yourself to prepare just one meal for yourself today. It might just transform the way you approach your bodily nourishment!πŸ’›

We finally opened our doors to Discover Strength Nashville last week, and I feel like I am finally catching my breath!πŸ˜…

I tell my clients in Energetically Efficient to stop and celebrate their wins.πŸŽ‰ We are often so busy moving on to the next to-do list item, the next challenge, or the next thing on the calendar that we don’t take the time to pause and really *feel* our wins. (If you’ve been here a while, you may know that one of my journeys in this lifetime is to really feel all of my feelings β€” the amazing ones, the difficult ones, and everything in between. If you are new here, buckle up because as a Cancer Rising with a Pisces Moon (so much water!), I love emotional depth and I do not do surface conversations well!πŸ˜†πŸ¦€β¬†οΈβ™“οΈπŸŒ™πŸ’¦)

Me sharing this post is working on practicing what I preach with my EE clients. I’m pausing to celebrate our super successful first week of Discover Strength Nashville because to me, it is a major win!πŸŽ‰

The amount of behind-the-scenes work that went into this awesome opening from our small but mighty team was insane.πŸ€ͺ I honestly underestimated it. (See photos of me hauling things β€” even garbage β€” in my truck.πŸ˜‚) Yet here we are β€” SO excited to be serving this amazing Nashville community. The best part is that the feedback has been incredible so far!πŸ‘πŸΌ

I want to share/remind anyone reading this that the more we pause and celebrate our wins β€” when we really let ourselves feel the feelings of gratitude, happiness, joy, and even pride for what we accomplished β€” the more we receive things that cause us to feel grateful, happy, joyful, and proud.πŸ₯°

We are finally opening on Saturday and could not be more excited about it!πŸ₯°πŸ™ŒπŸΌ We’ve both been strength training with Discover Strength in the Twin Cities for the past 15-20 years.

The Discover Strength philosophy is quite simple:

I love supporting my clients in improving their gut health! I’ve been working on this a ton this year myself because I chose to take antibiotics earlier this year for a skin infection that I could not get to go away on its own.🫠

When I was on antibiotics, I literally set an alarm to take the antibiotic, and then another alarm to take probiotics 4 hours later, and then another alarm to take the antibiotic 4 hours later, and another alarm to take the probiotics 4 hours later, and then another alarm to take the final anabiotic 4 hours later before bed.πŸ˜… I did this for 10 days straight. In other words, in an effort to optimize my gut health and ensure that I was keeping good bugs in my body even though I was on antibiotics, I created a protocol that allowed me to recover from antibiotics faster than normal.πŸ’ƒπŸΌπŸ˜Š

What I share in this video are the top 5 things I have been doing (and also have my clients do regularly) to improve our gut health. Focusing on and feeding the good bacteria in our guts is SO important to our metabolic health!πŸ’ͺ🏼

These are just some things I consider part of my regular fitness habits in 2026!πŸ₯³

1. Sweating: Think sauna and hard workouts πŸ’¦πŸ”₯
2. Strength Training: You may have heard I recommend Discover Strength πŸ’ͺ🏼
3. Sunlight: I get sunrise, sunset, and midday sun on my body (including my eyes) each day β˜€οΈπŸŒ…πŸ‘€
4. Walking / Running: Whether I’m walking or running, I get 15,000 to 25,000 steps each day πŸšΆπŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸƒπŸΌβ€β™€οΈ
5. Real Food: I consider eating real food a fitness habit because it keeps my mind sharp and my cells healthy πŸ₯©πŸ₯—
6. Sleep: I prioritize getting 7 hours of sleep per night. I’m happiest when I’m in bed and lights out before 10 PM πŸ›ŒπŸ˜΄
7. Snuggling My Girls: Spending time with Catch, Belle, and Maeve is incredible for my central nervous system.πŸΎπŸ’– I wish everyone was lucky enough to have dogs with their grounding energy.
8. Peptides: I’m aware of how controversial this topic is, and I find it funny. Once you understand how peptides work in the body, they can be an amazing tool when you have all of the foundational principles in place.πŸ’‰
9. Supplements: I love high-quality supplements and take many of them. I also take breaks. I’ve become very good at trusting my intuition in terms of what my body needs and when.✨
10. Joy: I consider being in a state of joy β€” through meditation or otherwise β€” a fitness habit. Joy is a frequency. It’s high vibrational. Raise your vibration, everything in your life gets better.πŸ§˜πŸΌβ€β™€οΈπŸ€©
