Did you know that hypertensive disorders of pregnancy are a leading cause of maternal and infant illness globally? 🩺💜

Today, on World Preeclampsia Day, we want to celebrate the incredible nurses who care for mothers before, during, and long after delivery.

Your compassion, assessment skills, and expertise are vital to catching these conditions early and protecting both mom and baby.
💡 What to watch for:

🔹 Severe, persistent headaches
🔹 Sudden swelling of the hands, face, or eyes
🔹 Vision changes (blurry vision, seeing spots)
🔹 Sudden, rapid weight gain
🔹 Upper abdominal pain

To the labor, delivery, and postpartum nurses working tirelessly to keep families safe: THANK YOU.

🫶 Let’s continue to educate, advocate, and Deliver Hope together!

🍰🧁 Happy World Baking Day! 🧁🍰

Today, we’re celebrating the joy of baking—the sweet treats, the comfort food, and the little moments that bring people together. 💙

Whether it’s baking from scratch, trying a favorite family recipe, or just enjoying something delicious with a cup of coffee after a long shift, baking has a way of creating comfort, connection, and a little extra happiness. ✨

And let’s be honest… nurses know that sometimes a good dessert can be just the boost you need! 😄

So today, let’s have a little fun and celebrate the sweeter side of life.
💬 We want to hear from YOU!
Tell us in the comments:
👇 What’s your favorite thing to bake?

Violence against nurses is not “part of the job.” It is a public health crisis, a workforce crisis, and a patient safety crisis.

Recent reports out of Nashville involving a man accused of grabbing a nurse at Nashville General Hospital and slamming her head into a wall while she attempted to administer medication are deeply disturbing and unacceptable. Every nurse deserves to provide care in an environment that is safe, supported, and protected.

The reality is that this incident is not isolated. Healthcare workers are five times more likely to experience workplace violence injuries than workers in other industries, and 1 in 4 nurses report being physically assaulted on the job. Recent nursing workforce surveys also found that more than half of nurses experienced verbal threats or aggressive behavior in the last year alone.

Workplace violence leaves lasting consequences:

* Physical injuries
* PTSD, anxiety, depression, and sleep disturbances
* Burnout and compassion fatigue
* Increased turnover and workforce shortages
* Fear that follows nurses long after a shift ends

Research continues to show that violence in healthcare negatively impacts both caregiver well-being and patient outcomes.

Healthcare organizations and nursing leadership have a responsibility to move beyond statements of support and toward meaningful action:
• Zero-tolerance workplace violence policies
• Adequate security staffing and response systems
• Staff training for de-escalation and crisis intervention
• Consistent reporting systems with follow-through
• Post-incident mental health support for staff
• Environmental safety assessments
• Strong advocacy for legislative protections for healthcare workers

Nurses should never feel abandoned after an assault. Reporting should lead to action — not silence.

As a profession, we also have to continue asking difficult questions:

* How do we better protect bedside staff?
* What policies are actually working?
* How can nurses be empowered to report violence safely?
* What role should hospitals, lawmakers, and communities play?

We want to hear from you:

What do YOU believe is part of the solution to decrease or eliminate workplace violence against nurses and healthcare workers?

Your voice matters. The safety of nurses matters. And no one should risk their life simply for showing up to care for others.

💙👨‍👩‍👧‍👦 Happy International Day of Families! 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦💙

Today, we celebrate the love, support, connection, and strength that families bring into our lives and our communities.

In nursing, we know that family can take many forms. It may be the people we are born into, the loved ones who stand beside us, the friends who become family, or even the coworkers and teams who support us through life’s most meaningful moments. 💙

Families are often the foundation of healing, resilience, comfort, and care. They are present in celebration, in challenge, and in the everyday moments that remind us we are never alone.

As nurses, we also see every day how the power of family can make a difference in health, recovery, and well-being. ✨

💬 We want to hear from YOU!
Tell us in the comments:

💙 Give a shoutout to someone who may not be related by blood but is absolutely family to you!

Let’s celebrate the people who support us, uplift us, and make life a little brighter every day. 💙

💐💙 Happy Mother’s Day! 💙💐

Today, we celebrate the incredible mothers, mother figures, and caregivers whose love, strength, compassion, and sacrifice make such a powerful difference every single day.

Mothers are often our first teachers, our fiercest advocates, our comfort in difficult moments, and the steady hands that help guide us through life. Their impact is immeasurable. 💖

In nursing, we also recognize the many nurses who are mothers, the mothers we care for, and the mother figures who pour so much of themselves into supporting others both at home and in their communities. Your dedication, resilience, and love do not go unnoticed. ✨

Today, we honor all forms of motherhood and the countless ways that care, nurturing, and strength show up in our lives.
