My Epilepsy Story

My Epilepsy Story MES is bridging the gap for WOMEN and GIRLS living with epilepsy Nationally and Internationally.

My Epilepsy Story wants to give women and girls living with epilepsy and their families a platform to share how epilepsy has affected their lives. We want them to freely share their personal story without restricting them. By empowering women and girls to share their stories we can put a face to epilepsy and raise awareness to the importance of epilepsy research. Our stories will change the tide f

or the future of women and girls living with epilepsy as well as the children impacted my their mother's epilepsy. At My Epilepsy Story (MES) we are "Bridging the Gap" for women and girls living with Epilepsy in Every Corner of the World.

“It’s with the most heaviest of hearts that I announce that one of my best friends, sister, founding board member, Dr.Cynthia Louise Harden, has passed away. I am gutted to the core just as many in the and community are. Cynthia fought hard for for decades. She was a pioneer and always moved the needle forward for women. Please join with us as we love on her precious daughter during this time. We love you Julia and your mother loved you more than anything!”

~ Brandy McFadden,
My Epilepsy Story (MES) & International Women With Epilepsy Day (IWWED)

If you would like to honor Dr Harden and her work please consider donating to a research award in her name. Link is in our bio or on our website www.MyEpilepsyStory.org 💯 of donations go directly to the research award.

Preparing for my first trip abroad and thinking about solitude…. In solitude, we are able to focus on within and become comfortable with oneself. The quiet moments allow me to write, pray, while reflecting on the past and looking forward towards the future. This upcoming solo trip to Europe will allow me the time to explore, write, and fulfill dreams and passions that I have longed for. Quiet moments alone while also spending time with new people along the journey. I have many things to share about the journey that lies ahead. A journey that I have longed to start…. Life has a way of showing you what’s important and what’s your purpose. It’s up to each one of us to decide whether we will embrace the journey as well as embrace our purpose.

I hear from many women that taking the step to go alone or be alone is scary. I feel as though women have not seen themselves as strong enough or possibly society has told us that we cannot do the hard things. I firmly believe that women are the core in this world. We are daughters, sisters, caretakers, wives, mothers, grandmothers, and just simply the rock bed of this world. Without women none of us would be here today. I look forward to sharing my journey with you while I will leave you with this,

“Embrace your journey, your voice, your story and your strength. Only you can fulfill your purpose. You are here for a reason and that reason is to fulfill your purpose”
