I recently had the opportunity to be Ava-Rebekah goddess model for her Kalāvāhana workshop.✨

A practice rooted in the Śrī Vidyā tradition and centered around awakening the Devi/ Goddess, or divine feminine, within.

I’ll be honest, this was completely new territory for me, so I went in simply open to experiencing it. And it was really powerful. I felt a strong sense of energy during the ritual and left feeling lighter, grounded and honestly a little enlightened by the experience. 🪷

One of the most interesting moments was when Ava was working around the top of my head. I actually asked her afterward if she had used some sort of tool because I could feel what felt like tiny little needles across my scalp. She hadn’t… it was simply her fingertip.

She explained that this was part of the energetic work involved in the ritual. I can’t really explain what happened, but I definitely felt something, and it was very interesting to experience.

I’m grateful Ava invited me to be part of it and to experience something so different from my usual world of wellness, movement and self-care.

✨One side felt easier. ✨One side felt harder.

⚖️ Balance is one of the strongest predictors of how well you age. After 50 it declines faster than most women realize. Almost nobody trains it intentionally.

This wasn’t just legs… my core and entire body were working to stay steady on an unstable surface. That’s the point. I train balance to stay strong and capable as I age. 💖

I like taking 10 minutes to wake up my body and not go from 0 to 100.

A little movement. A little light. A little stretching.
Then depending on the day, I’ll walk, work out, recover… but this is the part that helps me get started.
