Natto!
It's a traditional Japanese fermented soybean food made with Bacillus subtilis var. natto, giving it its characteristic sticky texture and strong aroma.
Savory Natto Rice Bowl
Ingredients:
1 package natto
1 serving warm shortâgrain rice (steamed)
1 raw egg yolk (optional)
1â2 T soy sauce or tamari
1 t karashi mustard (or yellow mustard)
1â2 T chopped green onions
1â2 T bonito flakes for umami
Optional: avocado, cucumber, kimchi, pickles, nori
Instructions:
Stir natto fast in the container until it is a foam/string consistency.
Add soy sauce/tamari and mustard to the natto, mix.
Top the rice with the seasoned natto and add the egg, green onion, and bonito.
