This lovely little thing called Daffodil is coming to an end! My last day working as a hair stylist will be June 27, 2026. I’ve had carpal tunnel in both hands for 7 of my 9 years working as a hair stylist and it’s gotten to the point where I need surgery for both hands. My surgery is scheduled for June 30th. With my studio lease coming to an end in August, I’ve come to the decision that now is the time to step away from the chair. Booking for new guests is currently closed.
To any of you who have ever sat in my chair, thank you so much for giving me an incredible career as a hair stylist. So many of you followed me from salon to salon to salon, to the studio I’ve worked at for the last 4 years. Or you sent your friends, family members, and/or co-workers my way–these referrals are what a dream clientele is made of and you all gave me that! I have learned that I am most passionate about giving people a safe space to be themselves and escape from the pressures of the world, if only for a few hours every few months. When the hair was hard to do and my body wanted to give out from exhaustion, it was having the chance to lift people’s spirits that kept me going. There aren’t words to communicate how grateful I am to have had the chance to serve such an incredible group of people.
So what’s next for me? Of course, I’ve got to keep working with people even if I’m not doing their hair! I recently received a Teaching English as a Foreign Language (TEFL) certificate, which I’ll be using to pursue a career teaching English outside of the country. As of this moment, nothing is set in stone as to where or when I'd be moving, but I'm applying to English teaching positions in Europe and hoping to land something soon.
I've largely abandoned social media for the last 2 years and I haven't regretted it for a moment. I can't promise much more of a social media presence, but at the end of the month I plan to convert this account to private with the intention of keeping invested folks posted on where in the world I end up. Feel to unfollow me if you're only here for the hair of it all!
Let's keep it real! Send me a text, email, or hit me up in person to keep in touch!
