SUMMER HEALTH ADJUSTMENTS
Happy Summer of 2026. It is hard to believe that the longest day of the year is almost here. During summertime our health needs and activities change, so these are some of my summertime health suggestions:
- First and foremost, practice pro-active healthcare, don't wait for your car to breakdown! Utilize preventative healthcare from your chiropractor, massage therapist, and acupuncture physician.
- With longer days, we are more active and must maintain our musculoskeletal health. So, stay well adjusted, active and adjust your nutrients.
- A separate multimineral supplement is needed to replenish electrolytes during summertime, especially when taking BP and diuretic drugs.
- Summertime supplements should be adjusted toward joint support and metabolism. Summertime nutrients should include a multivitamin, multimineral, vitamin C, marine oils, and collagen peptides.
- Sun protection is important, use clothing and zinc-based sunblocks for sun protection, not oxybenzone sunblocks. Whoever sold us on oxybenzone for health?
- Hydrate daily, drink 50% of your body weight in ounces of quality water, up to a maximum of 3 quarts.
