After helping many people dealing with long periods of stress, tension, fatigue, overwhelm, insomnia, or simply feeling disconnected from themselves, I felt compelled to reach out and remind people to keep focus on what is truly important in life: our health.

After a certain age, “feeling good” no longer seems enough. Feeling GREAT becomes one of the most important foundations for enjoying life with energy, clarity, balance, and long-lasting wellbeing.

One of the most overlooked aspects of health is how much the body can often improve when supported through greater awareness, healthier habits, movement, relaxation, posture, foods, and a more holistic understanding of wellness and self-care.

The most rewarding experience is seeing how often the body responds better than people expect once they begin making meaningful lifestyle changes and learning how to better support themselves naturally.

With over 40 years helping people through self-healing education and implementing a more holistic lifestyle approach to health, I invite you to reach out and explore how a wellness consultation — by phone or in person — may help support your overall wellbeing and quality of life.

Feel free to call or text anytime.

Many people don’t realize how much stress, posture, movement habits, tension, and daily overwhelm can affect how they feel physically and mentally over time.

Often, people become so accustomed to:
stiffness, exhaustion, recurring discomfort, tension, low energy, poor sleep, overwhelm, or simply feeling physically or mentally “off” that it slowly becomes “normal.”

Our work is educational, personalized, and centered around helping people better understand how stress, posture, movement, lifestyle, and daily habits can influence long-term wellness.

At Holistic Health Services, wellness consultations focus on helping people explore movement awareness, relaxation practices, nutritional wellness, lifestyle habits, and self-healing approaches that may support greater balance and overall wellbeing.

If you’ve been feeling physically or mentally “stuck,” sometimes a different perspective can make a meaningful difference.

Serving clients through:
• Main office in Oregon House
• At-home wellness services in Nevada County, Yuba County, Butte County & Sutter County
• Online & phone wellness consultations available

*Self-healing tools until the doctor arrives, the ambulance comes, or we get to the medical office, hospital, or dentist. Salt can be an ally in many forms of self-healing.*

We can use salt in immersion baths to relax, or for inflammation, or for insomnia. The suggestion is at least half a kilo = 1.1 lbs of salt in a hot bathtub, and stay there for situations of intense pain, inflammation, or insomnia.

Hot water baths with intermittent cold water are also very good for pains like knee or arm injuries, or neck pain.

There are self-massage techniques, like pressing the trapezius on the upper part of the back next to the neck, that can relieve tension, headaches, and can also help with insomnia.

Ginger, lettuce, cabbage, onion, or garlic compresses can help reduce inflammation, arthritis problems, tendonitis, or even intestinal pain. Boil ginger, onion, or garlic - a full cup in one liter of water. Use two pieces of towel and apply hot compresses, alternating cold and heat. Keep a pot or container full of ice next to you. Heat-cold therapy helps reduce inflammation for both joint pain and stomach issues.

Conscious breathing - breathing deeply through the nose, exhaling, and trying to relax the face and shoulders - can be a very effective tool for insomnia, also for vertigo and dizziness. Breathing can be a natural relaxant for stress problems.

For toothaches, there’s a point between the upper and lower jaw. Find the point behind the ear, open your mouth, and press seven times until it relieves the toothache. There’s also another point immediately below the nose, between the nose and upper lip, that’s good for dizziness and good for balancing blood pressure.

For high blood pressure, if there’s high blood pressure and dizziness, relaxation and breathing exercises are very good until the doctor prescribes medicine for this.

Also, for digestive problems, we can boil lettuce, boil onion, or boil garlic. This can relieve gallbladder and stomach pains. For very intense diarrhea, we can char rice and produce charcoal - this can stop diarrhea.

Like all these home recipes, I have many more to share. Things we have at home that can help until we can see our doctor. Don’t hesitate to go to the ER, or go to your dentist or doctor through your health plan. These suggestions are not trying to replace the work of a doctor or going to the hospital. They’re only tools until you can get to your doctor.

Thank you. Don’t hesitate to call me if you want more home self-healing suggestions. I’ll happily share them with you. Thanks.

One of the biggest problems with living in pain for too long is that eventually people start accepting it as “normal.”

And when that happens, they often stop looking for what may actually be contributing to it.

Lower back pain, neck tension, wrist discomfort, numbness, stiffness…

Sometimes the body adapts quietly until the discomfort becomes harder to ignore.

This Saturday we’ll be offering short assessment sessions focused on identifying possible contributing factors—not just where the discomfort shows up, but what may be connected to it.

If you’ve been dealing with something ongoing, this may be a good opportunity to take a closer look.

Why pain doesn’t always start where you feel it

One of the most common misunderstandings about pain is assuming the problem is exactly where it hurts.

But in many cases, that’s not true.

The body is connected through nerves, muscles, and circulation pathways—so the source of discomfort can be somewhere completely different.

For example, this past Saturday at our booth, someone came in with lower back pain.

Instead of working directly on the lower back, we focused on the atlas (top cervical area) for about 15 minutes.

The result?
The discomfort in the lower back eased significantly.

This isn’t unusual.

When pressure on the nervous system is reduced and circulation improves, the body often begins to correct itself.

That’s why understanding the root cause—not just the symptom—is so important.

If you’ve been dealing with ongoing discomfort and haven’t found relief, there may be another place to look.

Happy to share more if this resonates with you.

Quick update for those around Nevada City, Grass Valley, and nearby areas dealing with wrist pain, numbness, or carpal tunnel symptoms…

I’ll be in Nevada City this Saturday offering a few short in-person sessions to help people understand what’s actually causing their symptoms—and what might help in their specific case.

This isn’t a full treatment or a sales thing—just a chance to get some clarity and see if there’s a better way to approach it.

A lot of people I’ve spoken with recently are dealing with:
→ Numbness or tingling in the hands
→ Pain that comes and goes (or is getting worse)
→ Trying different things with little or no lasting results

If that sounds like you and you want a second perspective, you’re welcome to stop by.

If you want details or a time, just comment 'SATURDAY' below and I’ll message you 👍

From what I see, carpal tunnel and tendonitis usually come as a mix of tension affecting the nervous system, muscles and tendons, producing circulation issues. It all circles back to how the body handles inflammation and stress over time.

Whether someone goes through surgery or chooses a natural approach, what happens during recovery can make a big difference

With a natural approach, as these patterns start to shift, symptoms often ease—and it becomes clearer how to support the body so it doesn’t fall back into the same cycle.

With surgery, recovery can take weeks to months, focusing on healing, mobility, and strength.

Different paths—different timelines.

I'll like to know what was your recovery experience like?

A client came to me with constant wrist numbness and pain—was already considering surgery for carpal tunnel.

Instead, we worked with shiatsu therapy focusing not just on the wrist, but the full nerve pathway.

Within weeks, sensation started coming back… and surgery was no longer on the table.

What’s interesting is how often the root cause isn’t where the pain shows up.

In many cases, people wait too long because they think surgery is the only option.

There are natural approaches that focus on restoring circulation and relieving nerve pressure—happy to share more if anyone is dealing with this 👍
