On September 11th, we pause to remember the lives lost, the families forever changed, and the countless stories of love, courage, and resilience that continue to live on. 🤍

At The HeartWay, we understand that remembrance is an important part of how we move through grief. We believe there is value in creating space for loss, honoring the people we carry with us, and offering compassion to those navigating life after loss.

Today, we remember not only what happened, but the people, families, and communities whose lives were forever changed. May we continue to hold their stories with care and never forget.

Forever in our hearts. 🇺🇸🤍

You don’t have to walk it alone. 💛

Sometimes, the most meaningful thing we can do is simply walk alongside someone. To listen without judgment, reach out when they are struggling, and remind them that they matter.

This World Su***de Prevention Day, let’s choose connection. Let’s start the conversation, make space for honest moments, and be there for one another. A simple conversation can be a turning point.

There’s always a HeartWay forward.

Happy Labor Day from The HeartWay! 💙

Today, we’re taking a moment to recognize and appreciate the dedication, compassion, and hard work that people bring to their communities every day.

From caregivers and healthcare professionals to educators, volunteers, families, and so many others, your work makes a difference—often in ways that may never be fully seen or recognized.

At The HeartWay, we’re especially grateful for everyone who gives their time, energy, and heart to supporting others through life’s most meaningful moments. Your care matters. Your presence matters. And the work you do matters. 💛

Wishing you a safe and restful Labor Day. Take a moment to slow down, recharge, and recognize all that you contribute!

As we enter a new month, here comes another quiet shift into a new season. 🍂

Maybe August brought moments you’ll hold close. Maybe it brought reminders of someone you miss, unexpected emotions, or moments that asked you to slow down and simply be present.

September doesn’t mean leaving those things behind. We can carry the memories, the love, and even the hard moments with us while still making room for what comes next.

At The HeartWay, we’re reminded every day that life is full of transitions. Some are joyful, some are difficult, and some are both. Each one deserves to be met with compassion, presence, and care.

So, as a new month begins, take a moment to honor where you’ve been and gently welcome where you’re going. There’s no need to have it all figured out. 💛

✨ A moment to pause, breathe, and simply be. ✨

Join The HeartWay today, for our free monthly Yoga Nidra practice, a guided meditation often described as “yogic sleep” or "effortless relaxation". This practice invites you into the space between wakefulness and sleep, where the body can deeply rest and the mind can gently turn inward.

Yoga Nidra can be a beautiful way to create space for rest, healing, rejuvenation, and connection — whether you’re navigating everyday stress, grief, illness, or simply need a moment to slow down and reconnect with yourself.

Being an End-of-Life Practitioner comes with some unexpected skills. 🤍

Knowing how to have the conversations that can feel difficult. Sitting comfortably in the quiet. Helping someone explore their wishes and values. Finding the tissues when emotions come up. And creating space where talking about death can feel a little less unfamiliar.

Because this work isn’t about having all the right words. It’s about presence, compassion, listening, and walking alongside people through some of life’s most meaningful moments.

It may be an unexpected kind of work—but it’s deeply meaningful.

Welcome to the world of End-of-Life Practitioner work. 🤍

This is a beautiful opportunity to learn more about the program, the work, and what it truly means to support people and families at the end of life.

There are many programs out there, but not all provide the hands-on tools, practical experience, and supportive community needed to feel confident and successful in this line of work.

At The HeartWay, we believe in learning with and from one another — building skills, sharing experiences, and creating a community where practitioners can grow together.

🌿 If you’ve been feeling called to this work, we invite you to join us, ask your questions, and discover what’s possible.

We hope you’ll be there! 💜

Grief doesn’t have a timeline, and it doesn’t look the same for everyone. 🤍

Sometimes grief is visible. Sometimes it’s quiet. Sometimes it shows up when we least expect it — in a song, a memory, a familiar place, or an ordinary moment.

National Grief Awareness Day is an opportunity to pause and remember that grief can stay with us long after others have returned to their everyday lives.

It’s also a reminder to keep showing up. To listen without trying to fix. To remember the person who is no longer here. And to let someone know, “I’m thinking of you. I haven’t forgotten.”

At The HeartWay, we believe grief deserves space, compassion, and understanding — wherever someone may be in their journey.

You don’t have to carry it alone. 🤍

Come as you are. Leave with a little more understanding, a little more connection, and perhaps a deeper appreciation for the life you’re living.

Because talking about death can help us live more fully.

The “Conspiracy” No One Talks About in End of Life Care

There has been a boom in death doula and end of life training programs. That is exciting because more people are recognizing how important this work truly is.

But here is what we believe:

Training matters. Experience matters more.

Our founder, Dr. Andrea Deerheart, PhD, ELP, began this work more than 40 years ago, long before death doulas became a recognized profession.

Her journey as a social worker, educator, advocate, and founder shaped the way we teach today.

She did not build this organization for fame. She built it to serve others and to help prepare the next generation of compassionate end of life advocates.

At The HeartWay, our program goes beyond a certificate. We provide hands on learning rooted in decades of real world experience.

Our four part program focuses on the essential knowledge, skills, and heart needed to truly support individuals and families at the end of life.

Because there is a difference between completing a training and being truly prepared to serve.

That is The HeartWay difference.
