This past Friday, we replaced our American flag, and today we held a proper flag retirement ceremony. During the ceremony, the flag was respectfully retired, and local veterans shared their stories and experiences. Their words touched everyone in attendance, and there were tears shed by many.

We are grateful for the opportunity to honor our flag and those who have served our country. Today and every day, we thank all who serve and have served for their dedication, sacrifice, and commitment to our nation.

At The Avalon of New Albany, we are grateful to offer two Sunday church services to meet the spiritual needs of our residents.

A Catholic service is provided in partnership with Church of the Resurrection New Albany and begins at 10:00 a.m.

Following that, Bob and Margo lead a non-denominational service at 11:00 a.m.

We are thankful to provide these opportunities for worship, fellowship, and spiritual connection for all who wish to participate!

Meet Your Neighbor/Staff: Rob Sampson

Born in St. Joseph, Michigan, Rob grew up with three sisters and one brother. From an early age, he had a heart for helping others, and that passion has guided him throughout his life.

Whether serving as an Activities Director, caregiver, working in theater with adults with disabilities, or stepping in wherever help is needed, Rob brings kindness, compassion, and joy to everything he does. He has a special way of making people feel seen, heard, and valued. His caring spirit and genuine love for others are evident in every interaction, and he truly meets people where they are.

Rob’s warmth, generosity, and servant’s heart make a lasting impact on everyone lucky enough to know him.

And just for fun, Rob is also a Lord and owns property in Scotland!
