We are very proud of our partnership with Northern Virginia Community College Workforce Development to educate the newest healthcare professionals in our region. Our investment in NOVA Community College programs is changing the lives of students and will change the lives of the patients that they will care for in the future.

We were delighted to celebrate the graduation of the latest cohort of Practical Nursing students last week. Our Regional Director of Operations, Donna Shaw, RN, LNHA, joined the graduates for a photo with Northern Virginia Community College President, Dr. Anne Kress, and later spoke to the graduating class about the joy of being a nurse and the many paths that a career in nursing can take.

In the words of Donna, "Some days will be harder than others but remember that your kindness and care will never be forgotten by the people that you care for."

Our Admissions Director, Jennifer Moore, stopped by Senior Services of Alexandria with Woodbine Director of Community Relations, Jane Hughes, to thank Marshall Hespe, Director of Nutrition and Programs, check in on our Meals on Wheels partnership, and discuss an upcoming goodie bag for recipients.

Through this partnership, Marshall helps coordinate meal deliveries for Caring Connection recipients. Woodbine’s Caring Connection program supports Alexandria City residents returning home after a rehabilitation stay by providing nutritious meals and the added reassurance of a daily check-in as they transition home. We are grateful for this successful partnership and the meaningful support it provides to our community.

This week we invite you to meet Yeshi Ejeta, CNA, an integral part of our incredible team!

For 15 years, Yeshi has been a dedicated member of the Woodbine family. After becoming a CNA in 2011, she knew she had found her calling in caring for others and has been making a meaningful difference in the lives of our residents ever since.

Yeshi immigrated to the United States from Ethiopia in 2007 and settled in the City of Alexandria, where she discovered that a career in healthcare was the perfect way to serve others in her community. We’re certainly grateful that journey brought her to Woodbine!

Today, Yeshi lives in Woodbridge with her family and is a proud mother of two high schoolers, each with exciting aspirations for the future.

Thank you, Yeshi, for 15 incredible years of compassion, dedication, and exceptional care. We are so fortunate to have you on our team!
