After much reflection, I want to share an update regarding CJ’s Tattoo.

Yesterday, I was informed that an existing Village of New Boston ordinance prohibits tattoo shops from operating within village limits. While I have been operating with all required county licensing and approvals, I was unaware of this ordinance until now. As a result, I will be closing my current location and beginning the search for a new home for my business.

While this news is certainly unexpected, I choose to look at this chapter with gratitude rather than disappointment. I am incredibly thankful for the opportunity I had to be apart of this community, meet so many wonderful people, and take a dream I worked hard for and make it a reality. The support I have received from my clients, friends, family, and community has meant more than I can put into words.

I also hope this situation brings awareness to an ordinance that many people may not realize exists. (741.01) Tattooing is a licensed, regulated profession that has evolved tremendously over the years. In communities across the country, tattoo studios contribute to local economies, support small-business growth, create jobs, and provide a safe, professional environment for artistic expression. It may be worthwhile for this ordinance to be reviewed in the future so that other entrepreneurs, artists, and business owners have the opportunity to invest in and contribute to the Village of New Boston.

Most importantly, I don’t want this experience to discourage anyone from chasing their dreams. If anything, it has reinforced my belief that dreams are worth pursuing, even when the path doesn’t go exactly as planned. Every challenge brings new opportunities, and every closed door leads to another one opening somewhere else.

This isn’t goodbye, it’s simply a change of address.

I look forward to continuing to serve my clients and sharing updates as I begin the search for a new location. Thank you all for your support, encouragement, and belief in me throughout this journey. 🖤💚
