Your body is communicating.

Every restriction.
Every tension pattern.
Every sensation.

The body is continually providing feedback about what it has experienced and what it may still be carrying.

Myofascial Release creates space for that communication to be heard.

At Nostos Myofascial Release, I use the John F. Barnes Approach® to address the whole fascial system, supporting both structural change and nervous system regulation.

The goal is not to chase symptoms.

The goal is to create the conditions where your body can move with greater freedom, adaptability, and ease.

Your body has a story.

Listening is where healing begins.

I can help you.

Hi, I am Ryan Lathe, founder of Nostos Myofascial Release, Licensed Massage Therapist, and Advanced MFR Practitioner.

I have been a Licensed Massage Therapist since 2012 and have dedicated my career to helping people navigate chronic pain, tension, prenatal and pediatric care, injury recovery, nervous system stress, and fascial restrictions.

My approach is rooted in John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach®, a form of hands-on therapy that uses sustained gentle pressure to address restrictions within the fascial system.

Every session is intuitively guided by your body’s response, creating space for greater mobility, comfort, balance, and ease.

I work with individuals experiencing TMJ dysfunction, headaches, neck and back pain, sciatica, post-surgical restrictions, prenatal and postpartum changes, athletic injuries, and long held patterns that have been resistant to other approaches.

In 2017, I founded a private massage practice here in New Braunfels, Texas that evolved in 2024 to Nostos Myofascial Release, offering MFR exclusively.

Inspired by the ancient Greek concept of the journey home after a long voyage, a homecoming that honors survival, resilience, and the lessons gathered along the way, my intention is to provide a space where your body can soften its guard, reconnect with its inherent capacity for healing, and move toward greater freedom.

If you are ready to explore what Myofascial Release can offer, I invite you to schedule a session and begin your care journey.

What is Biofield Tuning?

Our Biofield is our energy body that contribute to our primal sensory perception.

I integrate Biofield Tuning alongside John F. Barnes’ Myofascial Release Approach® as part of the assessment process.

The tuning forks offer another way to observe how the nervous system is responding.
This often correlates to patterns of tension in the fascia.

Often, I can sense what has been bothering you before you tell me.

Research suggests that sound and vibration may influence heart rate variability and autonomic nervous system regulation, both of which play an important role in how the body responds to stress and recovery.

The body always leads each session.

As the nervous system settles and the fascia begins to soften, the tissue reveals where it is ready to move. I follow those responses with sustained, hands-on myofascial release, allowing the treatment to unfold according to what your body is communicating in real time.

There is no protocol.

There is intentional listening.

Listening through touch.
Listening through movement.
Listening through sound.

Healing begins when the body feels heard.

Let’s work together.

Before healing became an industry, it was often a practice of observation.

For most of human history, healing was intertwined with the natural world.

A shell gathered from the sea.
Wood from a sacred tree.
Stone shaped by the earth.
A flame.
A prayer.

From one tradition to the next, the objects themselves may change…what remains is the human desire to pause long enough to remember what matters.

Perhaps these traditions continue to endure because across cultures, people have long used simple objects to create moments of reflection, reverence, and connection.

When you schedule a session with me, it is an honor to hold this sacred space for you to soften.

When you arrive, I may be spending a few quiet moments transitioning between sessions.

For the comfort and privacy of all guests, I ask that clients text “Here” and wait quietly on the patio upon arrival.

When it is time for your session, I will come out to greet you personally and welcome you inside.

The time between sessions is intentional.

It allows each client the opportunity to leave without feeling rushed, while also giving me the space to reset, prepare, and be fully present for the person I am about to work with.

I appreciate your contributions to helping me create an environment where every client receives thoughtful, individualized care from the moment they arrive.

It is a pleasure to serve each and every one of you!

There is something fascinating about the way the human body responds to vibration.

Sound is more than something we hear.

It is a vibration we feel.

The body is constantly gathering information from its environment through touch, movement, temperature, light, and sound.

Each of these influences how we orient, adapt, and respond to the world around us.

In my sessions, I use Biofield Tuning forks to introduce gentle vibration both on and around the body. These frequencies create auditory and sensory input that many people experience as deeply calming, grounding, and restorative.

Integrating sound therapy into myofascial release complements the work already happening within the body. As restrictions begin to soften and the nervous system settles, the addition of Biofield Tuning can provide another layer of sensory awareness and support.

Rather than focusing on sound alone, I view it as part of a broader therapeutic approach that considers both the physical body and the biofield. Together, these modalities create space for greater ease, presence, and connection, allowing clients to experience their sessions in a deeper and more integrated way.

There are seasons in life where you learn how to remain steady even when everything around you feels uncertain.

I think many people underestimate how much strength it takes to stay soft while moving through difficult seasons.

To remain thoughtful instead of reactive.
To keep your heart open without abandoning discernment.
To continue listening to yourself while the world becomes loud, demanding, or unclear.

Sometimes the hardest part is simply moving through uncertainty without becoming hardened by it.

You realize you are still rooted, still becoming, still capable of holding beauty and tension at the same time.

Storms pass through.
Water rises and recedes.
Things fall away.
Life reorganizes itself quietly beneath the surface.

Resilience is rarely loud.
Sometimes it looks like composure.
Sometimes it looks like solitude.
Sometimes it looks like learning how to stand inside your own life with greater honesty.
Authenticity.

“Nostos” is the celebration of returning home after surviving the violent sea.

That meaning lives inside my work.

For the people who have spent years surviving, bracing, adapting, and carrying more than anyone realized, my work is for you.

There is something quietly profound about being fully present with another human being.

The quality of attention.
The pace of touch.
The ability to stay present with another person without rushing their body ahead of itself.

Many people spend years pushing through pain while losing connection with what their body has been trying to communicate. My work exists in helping create enough space, safety, and time for the body to begin responding differently.

A deeper breath.
The jaw releases without force.
The shoulders stop preparing for impact.
Softening around the eyes.

Stillness matters.
Presence matters.

A human nervous system feels the difference between being handled and being genuinely met.

Slow listening.
Sustained contact.
Careful observation.
Allowing the body enough time to unwind from patterns it no longer needs to organize around.

This work asks for patience from both practitioner and client. Over time, many people begin noticing changes in pain, mobility, breathing, posture, emotional overwhelm, jaw tension, sleep quality, and their ability to physically feel more at home inside themselves.

If your body has been asking for a different kind of support, I would love to work with you.
