Dietitian Sarah here!

Fresh herbs are an easy, low-effort way to add flavor and variety to everyday meals. 🌿

Herbs provide small amounts of vitamins or minerals in addition to naturally occurring plant compounds, like antioxidants, that support health. They're also great at adding lots of flavor without relying on extra salt, fat, and sugar.

Even a small windowsill setup can make it easier to keep them on hand and use them regularly.

Try starting with just 2–3 herbs and adding them to meals you already make.

Dietitian Sarah here sharing a favorite – Fresh dill Greek yogurt ranch 🌿

This is an easy, high-protein dip that’s creamy or dressing that's flavorful and great to use in a variety of ways:

-to dip veggies

-replace cream cheese on a bage (really good on a salmon bagel)

-use in wraps

-or make it a dressing (add more water for a thinner texture)

Ever feel like one “off” meal means the whole day is ruined? You’re not alone — and that all-or-nothing mindset may actually be holding you back from long-term progress.

Our newest blog post by Baptist Health System Dietetic Intern Gypsi Paz dives into why perfection isn’t the goal when it comes to nutrition and health habits — consistency and flexibility are. 💚

In this article, Gypsi shares practical ways to:
🥗 Move away from “good” vs. “bad” food thinking
💭 Reframe setbacks with more self-compassion
📈 Focus on progress instead of perfection
🌟 Build habits that are realistic and sustainable

Because healthy living shouldn’t feel like starting over every Monday.

Ever feel like you’re doing “all the right things” with food… but still not seeing the results you expect?

What if it’s not just what you’re eating—but when?

In our latest blog, Texas State Dietetic Intern Natalie McDermott dives into the science of your body’s internal clock (also known as your circadian rhythm) and how meal timing can impact your metabolism, energy, and overall health.

Research shows that your body processes food differently throughout the day—often more efficiently earlier on, with late-night eating linked to weight gain and blood sugar challenges.

Inside the blog, Natalie breaks down:
✔️ Why consistent meal timing matters
✔️ How late-night eating can work against your goals
✔️ Simple ways to better align your eating with your body

If you’ve been focusing only on what’s on your plate, this might be the missing piece.

Come on in! This is a food pun-filled, judgement-free zone!

Our dietitians are not your food police. In fact, we are quite the opposite. We love all food too, and want you to enjoy better health AND what you eat in the process. Despite what social media makes it out to be, nutrition is not black and white. Rather, it's individualized to the countless nuances, lifestyles, traditions, culture, medical history, and more that make up a person. You deserve so much more than a cookie cutter approach.

It can take a lot to walk through that door and put that focus on YOUR health. But we got you, every step of the way.

When we see blanket nutrition advice for IBS on the internet, we always cringe a little. 🫣

IBS is such a complicated, nuanced, and “personal” syndrome that does not fit under any one treatment option or diet path. Not only can symptoms widely differ, but potential triggers that could be contributing to your IBS can widely differ too, and this also affects your plan of care. One diet therapy that dramatically helps one person could make things a lot worse for another. Throw in varying medical histories, diet preferences, medications, lifestyles in there – whew. It’s a lot to figure out and piece together.

In honor of IBS awareness month, we want to bring about awareness that IBS treatment should be HIGHLY individualized to you and your body, and you deserve proper care by a qualified healthcare professional. Registered Dietitians that specialize in gut health (like we do!) will make sure we are not only helping your qualify of life and gastrointenstinal comfort, but also protecting and improving your gut health for the long-term.

Give us a shout if you are tired of struggling with tummy troubles - we can figure it out together.

Dietitian Sarah here, and we are celebrating IBS Awareness month! And if you struggle to find recipes that are both gut-friendly AND satisfying, you’re going to want to save this one.

This easy Low-FODMAP Spaghetti Casserole is one of my go-to dinners, and it's also great for meal prep! Pair it with your favorite low-FODMAP roasted veggies or a fresh side salad to add that extra veggie boost 🥦

✨ Dietitian tips to keep it low-FODMAP:

• Use lactose-free options like Fage Best Self Lactose-Free Greek Yogurt for a creamy texture without the symptoms

• Choose low-FODMAP friendly cheeses like sharp cheddar

• Opt for a low-FODMAP pasta (brown rice & corn or certified blends)

• Double-check your Italian seasoning and canned tomatoes—look for garlic/onion-free or low-FODMAP certified options

• Don't have a garlic infused oil? No problem. Regular olive oil works great too!
