Native bees are the super-pollinators of the garden! While honey bees have their place, it’s actually solitary bees, such as mason bees and leafcutter bees, that are critical to growing food and flowers.

The world is home to more than 20,000 species of bees, so let's celebrate them all! 🐝🐝🐝 Learn more about these amazing heroes of pollination! Almanac.com/native-bees-best-pollinators-your-garden

What's the dirt on grounding?

Grounding or earthing is simply the act of walking barefoot or sitting with your feet having direct contact to the earth. As you walk through the grass in your yard, sand on a beach, or a dirt path while forest bathing your body absorbs negative electrons directly from the ground beneath you. Many people today have little or no physical contact with the earth compared to our ancestors. Grounding allows us to release the build up of positive static electric charges within our body that play a role in a number of health issues. The benefits of grounding on our well-being can include improved sleep, reduced inflammation, lower stress and a boost in mood.

In addition to absorbing negative electrons we also have the benefits of exposure to mycobacterium vaccae. This bacteria is abundant in soil and stimulates the secretion of serotonin which has a positive influence on our emotions, memory and immune systems. This could explain why children and animals enjoy playing in the mud so much.

Join me at one of my Forest Therapy events for an invitation to experience grounding and the many additional benefits nature has to offer. Check my website to see the full list of currently scheduled walks and events.
