in ayurveda, summer is the season of pitta — heat, intensity, moving, doing…. motherhood can already carry so much of that energy.

the medicine of summer is cooling the nervous system,
eating juicy, grounding foods,
slowing down in the hottest part of the day,
choosing softness over urgency,
sitting in the grass while the children play…

i’ve received the question, if i’m the “kind of doula who does laundry.”

truthfully? i don’t market myself as a housekeeper.

but if i’m in your home and there’s a basket of laundry sitting there while you’re trying to heal, feed your baby, or simply catch your breath… i’m going to get it done!

mother-centered care is about seeing what is weighing on a mother and helping carry it❤️‍🔥
