The Cancer Services Program (CSP) of Nassau County had a busy weekend in the community!

On Saturday, we attended Hope Day, and on Sunday, we proudly participated in Queens Pride. At both events, we connected with community members, shared information about cancer prevention and early detection, and raised awareness about the free cancer screening services available through our program.

Yesterday was an excellent day at the community health event in Elmont in collaboration with our elected officials!

We had a great time connecting with the community, sharing important cancer screening awareness information, and distributing FIT kits for colorectal cancer screening. Early detection saves lives, and we’re proud to help make these resources more accessible!

New research shows that colorectal cancer is the number one cause of cancer death in people under age 50! In NYS, only 36.8% of adults ages 45 to 75 without insurance were up to date with colorectal cancer screening, compared to 75.7% with any type of health insurance. If you are uninsured, aged 45+, we can help! Call the Cancer Services Program to see if you qualify for free screening! 516-470-4165.
