I love music, I love good food and I feel a strong desire to nourish and heal people. I am for the fusion of flavors and music. I am very much for caring for and stewarding the Earth. She is the pulse of our lives, and without her our hearts would not beet! I bask in the bounty the Earth offers in all of its splendor. I believe the Earth is alive, as in sentient. It is with this reverence and love
that I approach cooking. I know that the awe and gratitude I feel while growing, acquiring, and preparing food is a great deal of how delicious and beautiful it becomes when the finished dish arrives at our table. I am the Up Beet Chef because I know that the joy and love I feel while preparing the food imbues it with gold. The Up Beet Chef also represents my love of the music and harmonies that exist in all of nature, including in the human heart. Our hearts that beat with life, and passion, and every range of emotion possible. And, as the Earth turns we are all arcing, and undulating, and rising, and turning to the sweet beat of the Earths song, and to each other's songs. I see it as my honor and charge to make our songs a little clearer by helping to provide true nourishment. True nourishment is what nourishes all parts of us humans. Our hearts, souls, minds, bodies and families are all part of us. As we are nourished, so is our environment, and thus everyone we touch receives nourishment when we feel whole. I long to reach out into my communities and bring the nourishment we seek. And I intend to do this in as wholesome a way as I am capable of. I know that we are made whole through compassion, service, kindness and doing what we love. I will do what I love, in hopes that it will inspire healing and growth in the Earth and all life therein. I source as much food as I can from local farmers. My approach to cooking is to render as much flavor from simple foods as possible while keeping the nutrients intact. I have a wide range of cooking skills from good ol' southern cooking to many different ethnic styles. I am always on the hunt to learn more, and to better what I have already learned. I can teach you how to cook gluten free, vegan, traditional American or most any other style you like. ~Or~ I can do it for you...or both! I will work within your budget to help you receive wholesome food, sourced locally whenever possible. I can teach you how to cook for yourself and your family.
