This photo was taken in 2011, but the story behind it started years before.
I came into fitness during the “no pain, no gain” era. I pushed hard, worked long hours behind the chair, and eventually my body forced me to pay attention.
That low-back injury changed everything.
It taught me that movement doesn’t always need to be harder to be effective. Sometimes the real work is slowing down, understanding your body, rebuilding strength and learning how to move in a way that supports you for the long haul.
That experience shaped the way I teach today—and why I care so much about helping women feel strong, mobile and confident in the bodies they have now.
Same body. Different season. And I’m still learning from it. 🤍
If your relationship with exercise has changed as you’ve gotten older, I’d love to know: what does “feeling strong” mean to you now?
