So unfortunately this is the reality we are living in with a social media driven world. We had a wonderful young woman come in this weekend heartbroken because she had paid a deposit and set up a time with this as**at at our studio. Dude doesn’t work here. And he ghosted her. I felt awful for her, and I do hope she did as I did and reported this person and contacted her bank.

This allows us to go into procedures again here at SwampWater Studio, LLC . We use social media strictly for portfolio content. This includes Instagram, Facebook, Tik Tok, etc. All of our actual tattoo business - appointments, answering questions, supplying guidance, deposits - those are done at the actual studio or over direct email contact where you are speaking to either Tattoos by Brandi Bruce or Tattoos By Jacob Fielder . Deposits can be taken over the phone - 504-264-7795 - or over email during your consultation. We DO NOT USE CASHAPP and we encourage our clients to try to disengage from that platform as well as it has very limited capabilities when it DOES come to fraudulent activity.

The only 2 artists who work at SwampWater Studio are Jake Fielder - [email protected] - and Brandi Bruce - [email protected]. Both are accessible via our shop email which is what we encourage our clients to reach out to - [email protected] - and is linked in our Instagram and Facebook shop profile. Our physical address is 3933 Toulouse Street, New Orleans, LA 70119. We open at noon, Tuesday thru Saturday, and post any change in our regular shop hours onto our Google listing. You can call the studio via normal business hours at 504-264-7795. This is not a textable line: it is a business line and you will be met with an automated message telling you to reach out directly.

All these scammers are different but I can tell you that we would never pressure you, and never ask for a deposit without a direct and thorough consultation where we discuss variables in your project. We are thankful for our clients and the support we get from all of you. We also respect the other artists and shops in this area, and I hope at some point we can all come together and figure out a tangible way to get this to stop.
