Creating space as a new approach to balancing the body
In life, we spend so much time flexed, contracted, and curved that it actually changes our posture and alignment.
In Pilates, we often focus so much on stabilizing as we’re moving. It has often become this unspoken contraction within the body that overrides most other things
But what if we create space?
Space cues help us create internal space in our bodies, while also helping us bring better awareness and release too many long health patterns.
Small internal check-ins to widen the sit bones can create more space in the hip joints or aligning the sternum with the p***c bone can bring us into a more neutral position.
These small adjustments can help bring new awareness to our posture and help us begin to feel and notice our muscles as they’re activating and relaxing.
