Pain that disappears once you start running is easy to ignore, especially when it seems to “warm up” after a mile or two. But discomfort that consistently shows up before or during the early part of a run can sometimes be a sign of an underlying issue rather than simple stiffness. Tendon injuries, stress reactions, muscle imbalances, and overuse injuries often feel better once the body is moving and blood flow increases, only to return later or worsen over time.
