Dolly Parton meant so much to so many people in this world. An absolute legend, an inspiring soul, and truly one of a kind.

She inspired people to be themselves, loudly, proudly, and unapologetically. To be creative. To be kind. To give back. To love people for exactly who they are. And, of course, to never be afraid of a little too much hair, a few too many rhinestones, or taking up a little extra space in the world.

Here in New Orleans, it’s hard not to think of Dolly when getting ready for a parade or a ball or just a Tuesday. She inspired the Krewe of Dolly’s, who celebrate her not only through the fabulousness, but by carrying on her spirit of generosity and charitable work.

Dolly spent a lifetime showing up for people, so today we’re taking a little comfort in Truvy’s strict policy that nobody cries alone in her presence. There are a whole lot of people crying together today. But Dolly also gave us so much to laugh about, and somehow “laughter through tears” feels like just the right emotion for remembering her.

And she has inspired us at Fifi’s for more than 25 years. There have been countless Dolly wigs through our doors, and we know there will be countless more. Big hair, rhinestones, glamour, camp, so much of what we love has always had a little bit of Dolly in it.

What a gift she was to this world and what an incredible legacy she leaves behind. There will never be another Dolly.

We will always love you. 💕✨💐

Dirty Linen is TOMORROW! ✨

Royal Street is already buzzing, and tomorrow night the whole street comes alive. Galleries and shops will be open late starting at 6, there’ll be drinks, plenty to see, and lots of wandering up and down Royal.

And the shop is FULL. New wigs, jewelry, headpieces, and all kinds of fabulous things we’ve been saving for the weekend.

If you’ve ever wondered what one of our private parties is like, it’s really just an excuse to get your favorite people together, play with wigs, dream up Halloween or Mardi Gras looks, celebrate a birthday, toast a bride (or a divorce!), and make a few memories along the way.
