This is a reproductive justice issue. Repost from ACLU of Louisiana:

England Airpark oversees the airport and surrounding land in Alexandria, Louisiana. It’s the only deportation staging facility in the country. The board has approved a new ICE detention center there, specifically to hold women and children. They also proposed an ordinance to require permits for protests in the area. Community members showed up to make their voices heard at last week’s board meeting.

Repost: The U.S. is a UN member state, and like every member, its human rights conduct is supposed to be reviewed regularly through the UPR process. Shadow reports ensure civil society has real input in holding governments accountable.

That’s why our coalition is heading to Geneva: to submit 2025 and 2026 shadow reports and make sure abortion bans and reproductive rights are part of the story!
