We are home for Easter, holding tight to this precious time together. As we wait for news that will tell us if Mason is heading toward remission🙌🏾 or if these new cells they’ve found might be a sign of new cancer cells forming, we also recognize Autism Awareness month, celebrating my Mason’s beautiful mind and spirit!
🧡💚💛💜💙
Please keep us in your thoughts and prayers as we take this one step at a time.

He would rather be home playing with his cars, roaming freely without a central line in his chest attached to an IV pole.
Mason likes to sit and look out of windows. He does it at home all the time. But this window is different. It overlooks the Batture Fields.
All day long little boys run across those fields, practicing baseball, rugby, and soccer.

Mason just watches them😔

And I sit beside him while the IV machine continues pushing antibiotics and morphine through his central line. The hum of the pump has become part of our days, and I hate it.

Right now he is fragile. Any sign of sickness and we’re admitted. A fever, we’re admitted. A common cold, we are admitted.

So here we are again, hoping we might get a few days back at home, a few days of normalcy, before returning to the hospital.

Our new home, for now. ❤️‍🩹

I never fully understood the need for blood donations until my own child needed them.
I’ve given blood once in my life, and now I’ll give as often as I can!

When Mason’s platelet levels drop during chemotherapy, transfusions are what protect him.

Behind every bag of blood is a person who took the time to give❤️‍🔥👏🏾

If you are healthy and eligible, please consider donating. You may never meet the person you help, but a family like ours will always be grateful🫶🏾

I’ve been quiet on this page for a couple of weeks. Not because Mason isn’t on my mind, but because life has been heavy and relentless.

Two days ago was Mason’s birthday. We spent it in the hospital for a lumbar puncture and chemotherapy. There was no party. No planning. I didn’t even bake his cake until the next day. We were simply exhausted.

Autism and cancer are two completely different worlds. When Mason was diagnosed with autism in 2022, I had time. Time to process. Time to find balance. Time to build a routine and a life that worked for our family before I ever shared it publicly. Cancer didn’t give us that grace. It arrived suddenly and took everything we had worked so hard to stabilize.

Cancer has stolen our routines. It has interrupted progress we fought for every single day. It has taken the balance we finally found and replaced it with appointments, procedures, and survival mode.

If I’ve been absent, this is why.
We are still here💛
We are still fighting. Some days surviving is the win, even when it doesn’t look the way it used to.

Thank you for holding space for us while we find our footing again🫶🏾
