Monday Motivation: Reading 📖 stimulates brain 🧠 function!

If you didn’t know, Girl Scout is the chief little yogi of The Ohm Well and helps keep everyone on their toes.

She just signed up for another summer reading challenge with , and is excited for the prizes! (Don’t worry, mommy just signed up too)

Marley wasn’t always a confident reader, and struggled with Dr. Seus books at the beginning of first grade. So, we started making weekly library trips, and her reading improved with each book! By the end of first grade, she was reading chapter books. Morale of the story, practice, practice and get to your local library!

🤣 Find movement that gives you joy.
Asana: goddess squat or Utkata Konasana

To come into it:
1. stand with legs greater than hips width distance apart, and turn feet out 90 degrees.
2.Inhale to reach your arms up and overhead.
3. Exhale to sink into your hips as you bend the knees and gold post the arms.
4. Hold for 5 to 10 breaths
✨You can also jump into it instead✨
Benefits:
1. Increased stamina and blood flow
2. Increased strength and flexibility in the hips.

Come to standing on your knees. Place one hand on each hip. Hold and breathe for five breaths.

To go deeper, place both palms going up or down your spine. Inhale to lift your chest, exhale to lean back and open your heart. Hold for five breaths, then slowly come up, and come to hands and knees to reset.

Benefits:
1. Opens the throat, heart and shoulders
2. Stretches the low back and upper abdominals
3. Releases stored emotions in your throat and heart 💜 chakras
