LIFE IS A FAST JOURNEY program at Dover Library
Carmela Roush, local business owner, will present a series titled “Life is a Fast Journey”. These programs will be held on three consecutive Tuesdays, August 18th, August 25th and September 1st beginning at 6:30 PM in the community room of the Dover Public Library, located at 525 N. Walnut Street.
The three programs are designed to give hope and a positive attitude when facing life’s unexpected ups and downs especially after loosing a spouse. Participants will receive helpful handouts.
After Carmela Roush’s husband Tom passed, she found herself dealing with the reality of living on her own. As a result of her experiences, she was motivated to prepare this series of educational workshops in which she shares the information that allowed her to move forward in life.
On August 18, the topic will be “Being organized can reduce stress.” Roush will talk about the benefits of organizing important documents, such as death and birth certificates, bank accounts, wills and passwords. She will offer examples of important things that are so necessary to manage.
During the second session on August 25, Roush will talk about “How to adjust when you are on your own.” Roush will give helpful suggestions and resources about how to adapt to and enjoy this new phase of life.
The final session on September 1st is aptly called “You are going to need some tools…things you never thought of!” This will also offer some funny things you may do!
“Even though Carmela’s experience was related to the passing of her husband,” says Sherrel Rieger, adult program specialist, “the information she shares is useful for any person who finds themselves in a new phase of life. Participants will leave feeling more confident about taking the next steps.”
Carmela Roush has lived in the Tuscarawas Valley for 55 years. She is the owner of Shear Design Salon in New Philadelphia. In addition to being a certified cosmetologist, Roush is a certified naturopath. She has spoken at national conferences and locally. She served on the committee of Dover Community Development and organized “Jewels for Joy”, a charitable donation project sponsored by her business to help families in need at Christmas.
