Happy Pride Month! 🌈 This month, we celebrate the strength, resilience, and contributions of the LGBTQIA+ community while continuing to advocate for acceptance, equality, mental health support, and su***de prevention for all. LGBTQIA+ individuals continue to face higher rates of mental health challenges and suicidal ideation due to stigma, discrimination, and lack of support, which is why creating safe, affirming spaces and uplifting one another matters.

Last week, our Education Director, Amanda Blue, MPH, partnered with Need in Deed to speak with students at Independence Charter School and Bregy Elementary and Middle School about mental health, su***de awareness, prevention, and the importance of supporting one another. 💚

Students engaged in meaningful conversations about emotional wellness, community care, and ways they can help support their peers and neighbors. It was especially inspiring to see young people taking a public health approach to mental health advocacy by preparing to share resources and information throughout their community.

Thank you to the students, teachers, and staff for welcoming us and creating space for these impactful conversations! Together, we continue working toward healthier, more informed, and compassionate communities.
