What is chronic venous insufficiency?
Chronic venous insufficiency, or CVI, happens when the veins in your legs have trouble moving blood back up toward the heart. Instead of flowing efficiently, blood can begin to pool in the legs, which may lead to symptoms like swelling, heaviness, aching, cramping, visible veins, skin changes, or restless legs.
CVI can progress over time, which is why early evaluation matters. If you’ve been noticing ongoing leg symptoms, they may be more than everyday tiredness.
A vein screening can help identify whether venous insufficiency may be affecting your circulation and what treatment options may be available.
