In addition to in-person birth support, I also offer Virtual Birth Support for $500.
This means I’m on call for you throughout your birth window and available by text, phone, and FaceTime from the time you hire me until two weeks postpartum.
You’ll have someone in your corner to help you:
🤍 Know when it’s time to head to the hospital
🤍 Talk through what’s happening during labor
🤍 Understand your options and questions to ask your care team
🤍 Feel supported and confident as you navigate the birth process
🤍 Receive guidance and encouragement during those early postpartum days

It’s not just about how many centimeters you’re dilated! 👇🏼

When your provider is assessing how ready your body may be for labor, they may use something called the Bishop Score.

And it’s so much more than dilation!

The Bishop Score takes several things into consideration, including:

✨ Dilation – how open your cervix is
✨ Effacement – how thin your cervix is
✨ Cervical position – where your cervix is positioned
✨ Cervical consistency – how soft or firm it is
✨ Station – how low baby’s head has moved into the pelvis

So you could be 1 cm dilated and still have a cervix that is changing in other important ways.

And that’s why looking at one number doesn’t always tell the whole story. Your body can be preparing for birth even when the dilation number hasn’t changed much.

As a doula, I love helping families understand what all of these numbers actually mean so they can feel informed, prepared, and confident throughout the process.
