Today is National First Responders Day, a time to recognize the people who answer the call when our communities need help the most.

To our First Response Air and Ground teams, who provide lifesaving care and transportation 24 hours a day. To the volunteer responders who leave their jobs, dinners and families behind to help a neighbor. To the dispatchers and communications professionals who calmly gather information, provide guidance and coordinate help when every second counts. To the members of the Minot Fire Department, the Minot Police Department, the Ward County Sheriff’s Department and all the other surrounding agencies who run toward emergencies when others run away, thank you.

Whether responding to a medical emergency, a crash, a fire or a call for help, your work makes a difference every single day.

Thank you for your service, your professionalism and your commitment to keeping our communities safe. We are proud to work alongside you.

🎃 Halloween is this weekend! With Trunk-or-Treats and spooky fun around the corner, here are some important safety tips for a fun and safe celebration:
🍬 Candy safety: Inspect all treats before enjoying. Look for any signs of tampering, and be cautious with homemade treats. For those with food allergies, check for allergen labels and consider carrying allergy-friendly snacks. It’s also a good idea to talk to your children about the dangers of accepting treats from strangers, including the potential for harmful substances.
🚦 Street smarts: Stick to well-lit areas, walk in groups, and never enter a stranger's home.
🐾 Animal awareness: Be mindful of pets that might be uncomfortable with costumes or crowds.
💳 ID safety: Bring an ID card in case of emergencies.
🍂 Fall weather: Dress in layers to stay cozy on those chilly nights!
Let’s keep Halloween fun, safe and inclusive for all! 👻
