Employee Spotlight ✨

After graduating from the University of St. Thomas with a degree in broadcast journalism, Cole thought a career in television news was ahead. Two internships with the Minnesota House of Representatives sparked an interest in government and public service, leading to a full-time role at the House and eventually to MDVA in 2016.

Today, as MDVA’s Government Affairs Liaison, Cole uses those communication and government skills to advocate for Veterans and their families, helping move legislation forward and secure resources for the care, benefits and services Veterans have earned.

We have declared this 2014 Harley-Davidson Sportster Trike with a California Side Car conversion kit as SURPLUS and need to sell it. With less than 600 miles, it's a gem and worth the minimum bid of $11,000. Members of New Ulm DAV Chapter 15 have the first opportunity to bid. If not sold to a Chapter member by September 21st, it will be made available for public sale.

This post is special to me as I was in the 41st Military Airlift Squadron at the time of the incident and knew everyone of the crew. The last two were friends and the last, Jack Sweatman III, was like a brother. We “were going water skiing” together soon after our missions. I was in Germany for REGORGER when we learned about the crew’s fate.

Our member Casper T. was as jovial as ever and proud to be part of our Disabled American Veterans, Chapter 15, New Ulm, Minnesota family. The DAV has helped Casper navigate the complicated VA benefits system, and he appreciates all that the DAV has done for him and his family.
