Half of American men have high blood pressure. One of the simplest ways to lower it doesn't cost a thing.
Our head of heart health, Dr. Abid Husain, broke it down for : slow, deep breathing — especially a long, slow exhale — pulls you out of fight-or-flight and lets your heart rate and blood vessels settle.
The move is belly breathing. In through your nose for 4–5 seconds, out slowly for 6–8. Five to ten minutes, once or twice a day.
It's a lever, not a cure — the effect is modest but real, and it works best stacked with sleep, training, and your doctor. But few healthy habits are cheaper or easier to start today.
Blood pressure you can check at home for free. The numbers that actually predict heart risk — ApoB, cholesterol, and 40+ more — we test for. Link in bio.
