INSIGHT Clinical Research Network (CRN), a Weill Cornell Medicine-led database of more than 15 million patients, has received close to $8 million in renewed funding from the Patient-Centered Outcomes Research Institute (PCORI) to expand the database and its use for health research for the next three years. INSIGHT CRN is a collection of de-identified electronic health records and clinical trials data from the five top academic medical centers in NYC, centralized into one database. The renewal will support studies of artificial intelligence and natural language processing of health data to aid in health decision-making, as well as studies on the long-term effects of COVID-19. It will also enable more pragmatic clinical trials, research studies on a health intervention already in place in a real-world setting. Learn more here: https://bit.ly/INSIGHTRenewal

That changed when her violin mentor at the Shanghai Conservatory of Music suggested the benefits of learning more about the sciences, leading her to obtain a degree in preventive medicine at Fudan University. Anni just completed Weill Cornell Medicine's MS in Healthcare Policy and Research program as part of the class of 2022. This May, the Department of Population Health Sciences joins the nation in celebrating Asian American Pacific Islander (AAPI) Heritage Month. Observed for the entire month since 1992, May is a time to reflect on the unique life experiences of all members of the AAPI community and acknowledge their significant contributions to the country. This year’s theme is “Advancing Leaders Through Collaboration.” Join us in getting to know some of the AAPI faculty and staff who make up the department. We thank them for sharing more about their personal heritage and encourage one another to continue learning about AAPI history.
