🌍 World Humanitarian Day | 19 August

When access is limited, diagnostics must move closer.
In humanitarian and underserved settings, timely access to healthcare can make all the difference.
At REME-D, we believe that reliable molecular diagnostics should not be limited by geography, infrastructure, or distance.
Through decentralized and field-based testing solutions, we work to bring accurate diagnostics closer to the communities that need them most — supporting healthcare teams with timely results and enabling informed clinical decisions where access to laboratory services can be challenging.
Because healthcare should reach people where they are.
Today, we recognize the humanitarian workers, healthcare professionals, and local teams who continue to serve communities in the most challenging environments.
Bringing diagnostics closer.
Expanding access.
Serving humanity through innovation.

Day 5 in Baringo- Training 💪

Over the first four days of World Hepatitis Day 2026 commemorations in Baringo County, the Reme-D.Inc team supported by our partners Eqpal Medical has clearly demonstrated that field-based molecular testing for Hepatitis B is possible – even in off‑grid, resource‑limited settings.

Using our mobile molecular platform, we have successfully delivered HBV viral load testing working in the sun and in the rain, and showing that accurate, high‑quality diagnostics can reach communities far beyond conventional laboratories.

To ensure that Baringo County – and its neighboring counties – can sustain and scale this approach, Day 5 focused on building local capacity. In partnership with Eqpal and county and national collaborators, we convened an intensive, hands‑on training session in Baringo.

A total of 51 clinicians, physicians, and laboratory technologists from Baringo County, Turkana County, and Elgeyo/Marakwet County participated. The program began with a scientific lecture on hepatitis and the spectrum of available testing approaches, delivered by Prof. Tarek Mansour, Professor of virology, immunology, and molecular biology at the National Cancer Institute, Egypt. This was followed by practical, bench‑side training on DNA extraction and real‑time PCR amplification, equipping participants with the skills needed to run HBV viral load assays and other molecular tests in their own facilities.

Our message from Baringo is simple:
Hepatitis: Let’s break it down – together, and right where patients live.

Day 4 in Baringo- Celebrating World Hepatitis Day

Today in Marigat, Baringo County joined the global community in marking World Hepatitis Day 2026 at Marigat Sub-County Hospital, under the theme: “Hepatitis: Let’s Break It Down.”
As Reme-D.Inc, we are proud to stand alongside Division of National AIDS and STI Control Program, Ministry of Health -Kenya, Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI) and the County Government of Baringo in this effort to expand access to high‑quality hepatitis diagnosis and care. Together, we are strengthening collaboration in the fight against Hepatitis through research, innovation, capacity building, and improved access to testing and treatment.

On Day 4 of the commemorations in Baringo, our team supported on‑site hepatitis testing at Marigat Sub-County Hospital, working hand-in-hand with healthcare workers to provide accurate, reliable diagnostic services for members of the community. These efforts are aimed at breaking down barriers to prevention, early diagnosis, and linkage to care, in line with the 2026 World Hepatitis Day theme and the global goal of eliminating viral hepatitis as a public health threat by 2030.

Reme-D.Inc remains committed to working with counties across Kenya and regional partners to ensure that affordable, high‑quality hepatitis testing is available closer to the communities that need it most.

Day 3 | From Samples to Answers

Every sample brings us one step closer to earlier diagnosis, better treatment, and healthier communities.

Today, the Reme-D.Inc team, in collaboration with Eqpal Medical, continued supporting molecular testing activities at Majimoto Dispensary, Mogotio, Baringo County, Kenya 🇰🇪, working alongside local healthcare professionals to expand access to reliable PCR diagnostics.

By strengthening laboratory capacity and bringing advanced molecular diagnostics closer to patients, we are contributing to better healthcare and supporting the global fight against viral hepatitis.

World Hepatitis Day | July 28

Early Detection Saves Lives.

On World Hepatitis Day, we reaffirm our commitment to advancing molecular diagnostics and supporting laboratories with reliable solutions that enable accurate and early detection of viral hepatitis.

From high-quality nucleic acid extraction to precise PCR detection, our molecular diagnostic solutions empower healthcare professionals to make informed clinical decisions, improve patient outcomes, and strengthen public health efforts.

Together, through innovation, collaboration, and early diagnosis, we move one step closer to a future free from viral hepatitis.

Let's Break It Down.

Day 2 | Taking Molecular Diagnostics Beyond the Laboratory in Baringo, Kenya 🇰🇪

Today marked the beginning of our field operations in Baringo County, with our first molecular testing field site at Latacha Junior School as part of our World Hepatitis Day initiative.

Working alongside our Kenyan partners, we began providing molecular hepatitis testing directly within the community using a mobile molecular laboratory, bringing high-quality PCR diagnostics closer to the people who need them most.

Bringing PCR-based diagnostics beyond the walls of traditional laboratories is an important step toward expanding access to early detection, especially in underserved communities.

By decentralizing molecular testing, we are helping bridge the gap between advanced diagnostics and the communities that need them most, demonstrating how innovation and collaboration can strengthen healthcare delivery and improve access to life-saving diagnostics.

Day 1 in Baringo – Setting Up for Impact

After nearly 10 hours of travel, the Reme-D Inc. team has successfully arrived in Baringo, Kenya, and begun the installation and validation of our molecular diagnostics workflow at Marigat Hospital.

Today marks the start of an important milestone as we install, configure, and validate systems that will enable Hepatitis testing to be performed closer to patients, bringing high-quality molecular diagnostics directly to the communities that need them most.

This initiative reflects the shared vision of the Ministry of Health, Kenya, with Reme-D Inc. and Eqpal Medical supporting the implementation of a Kenyan-led strategy for decentralized, patient-centered diagnostics.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the leadership and collaboration of:
• Dr. Andrew Mulwa – Director, Medical Services, Preventive and Promotive Health, Ministry of Health, Kenya.
• Dr. Khadja Hassan – Head of Viral Hepatitis, Division of National AIDS and STI Control Program (NASCOP), Ministry of Health, Kenya.
• Dr. Missiani Ochwoto – Head of Production, Kenya Medical Research Institute (KEMRI).
• Lydia Moraa – Project Coordinator, KEMRI.
• Gladys Tuitoek – VTP Coordinator.

We are especially grateful for the trust and partnership that make this work possible.

This deployment is being carried out with the support and leadership of Dr. Patrick Amoth, Director General for Health, whose commitment to innovation and equitable access to diagnostics continues to advance healthcare delivery across Kenya.

At Reme-D Inc., we believe that where a patient lives should never determine the quality or accessibility of healthcare. Together with our partners, we are working to make timely, reliable molecular diagnostics available to more communities.
