Mel Rio & The Singing Bowl Sound Bath Studio Founded by Mel Rio as a space dedicated to promote and educate the use of Himalayan Singing Bowls for Sound and Vibrational Healing.

As of September 14th 2025, Mel Rio and The Singing Bowl Sound Bath Studio will no longer be located at the Land of Buddha. etails and future events. Mel Rio is the founder, owner and sole practitioner of the Singing Bowl Sound Bath Studio, LLC. Mel Rio is a certified Sound and Vibrational Healing Practitioner from both the "Atma Buti Sound & Vibrational School" and "The Singing Bowl & Sound Institute of New York". Mel Rio is also a certified Usui Reiki Master and Crystal Reiki Healer. While experimenting with Sound Healing, Sound & Vibration Massage Therapy, Usui Reiki and Crystal Energy Healing, she created and practices what she now calls "Sonic Crystal Reiki". "Sonic Crystal Reiki" is a unique healing modality which combines Sound Healing, Sound Vibrational Therapy with Reiki and Crystal Energy Healing. Sound Healing instruments used by Mel Rio during a session are Antique Tibetan and Himalayan Singing Bowls, the Buffalo Drum, The Gong, Japanese Rin bowls, Tibetan Tingshas and Koshi Wind Chimes. Included with the "Sonic Crystal Reiki" Sound Bath experience is a Reiki + Energy healing Crystal Body Layout created individually for each client, where the crystals are placed to work directly on/around the body, targeting each Chakra, to assist in healing in combination with the sound and vibrational instruments during the session. The Sound Bath experience with Mel Rio becomes more than a relaxing sound bath meditation. The client will be immersed in both Sound and Vibrations, which will feel like they are massaging the entire body and surrounding energy fields. Blockages and stagnant energy will be cleared, Tension and Pain released, while Healing Crystals help bring balance and harmony to the energy fields/chakras, targeting specific mental, emotional and physical healing intentions. The Singing Bowl Sound Bath Studio, LLC. was created to be a Sacred Sound Healing Space intended to educate and promote the use of Antique Tibetan and Himalayan Singing Bowls as sound and vibrational healing tools used during sound baths and meditations. Antique Tibetan and Himalayan Singing Bowls are different from other sound healing instruments in that they can be played around the body, showering the body with sound. As well as placed and played in various ways directly on the body, massaging the body with both sound and vibrations. Most Antique Tibetan and Himalayan Singing Bowls are also multiphonic, which means that they produce several musical notes at the same time when played, which is beneficial and ideal for obtaining a meditative state and healing experience.

A Weekend of Sound, Nature & Connection 🌿✨

This weekend we had the privilege of bringing the Mel Rio & The Singing Bowl Sound Bath Studio to Round Top, NY, where we shared sound bath experiences with the beautiful Glen Falls House community Glen Falls House surrounded by towering trees, waterfalls, and the peaceful rhythm of nature.

What began as a simple introduction on the Tavern deck naturally unfolded into multiple group experiences and private sessions throughout the weekend.

We transformed quiet, empty decks nestled in the forest into peaceful sanctuaries where people gathered to slow down, breathe, rest, reconnect, and simply be present together.

Thank you to everyone who attended, shared kind words of their experiences with the community, invited a friend, or trusted me with your very first sound bath, especially those experiencing one outdoors for the first time.

One of the greatest gifts of this work isn’t simply playing the bowls. It’s watching complete strangers arrive as individuals and leave connected by a shared experience. For a little while, the outside world grows quiet, and all that remains is the present moment, the sounds, the forest, and one another.

I’m deeply grateful to Emily , Audrey & family 😊🙏🏽🤗❤️, Allie , Greg and the entire Glen Falls House team for your kindness, hospitality, flexibility, and support throughout the weekend. Thank you for welcoming me so warmly and for creating such a beautiful space to share this work.

It was an honor to be part of your retreat experience, and I hope the vibrations continue to resonate with you long after the weekend has ended.

This past Sunday, June 21st, not only did we celebrate the ☀️, we also celebrated Father’s Day with an outdoor “Sound Bath” 🎶🌳, offering relaxing drop-in 30-minute meditative sessions to everyone attending the New York Botanical Gardens New York Botanical Garden …(only on this day, the sound bath circle was included with a general garden pass ticket! No conservatory ticket needed!) 🥳🙌🏽
Mel Rio Sound and Energy Healing brought the Singing Bowl Sound Bath Studio to set up under the canopy in the “Native Plant Garden” instead of the conservatory, so more people could attend and be protected from the heat and the sun.

We’re back this weekend with Mel Rio Sound and Energy Healing and the Singing Bowl Sound Bath Studio to perform the “Sound Bath Circle” in the courtyards located inside the New York Botanical Garden in the Bronx, NYC.
We had the Sun ☀️ shining bright, with the breeze 🌬️in the background blowing big white fluffy clouds ☁️around a 💙deep blue sky… all during the sound bath meditations starting at 11:30am and ending at 2:30pm.
Thank you to those who visited the gardens and participated in the sound bath circle today.

What a way to take a break during lunch!!!
I had the honor of bringing the Singing Bowl Sound Bath Studio to the “Hermes” of Paris NYC corporate office to facilitate 2 back to back 30-minute sound bath sessions during the lunch break hour of 12-1pm.
Thank you to those team members who sacrificed half of their lunch hour to attend the sound bath. I hope you all enjoyed the experience.
