Why you want to eat everything before your period 👇
During the luteal phase (the 12–16ish days before your period), your body actually needs more energy, more fuel.
Progesterone rises, your metabolism increases, and your cravings + appetite can feel WAY more intense.
Your body can burn an estimated 100–300 more calories per day during the luteal phase.
This is why the week before your period can feel like:
✨Never fully full
✨Craving carbs/chocolate
✨Thinking about food constantly
✨Wanting bigger portions
✨Lower energy
Your body isn’t being dramatic.
It’s asking for support.
This is also why under-eating, skipping meals, living on coffee, or trying to “be good” before your period usually backfires.
Eat the carbs. Prioritize protein. Add minerals. Support blood sugar.
Your hormones are not asking for less food.
PS: One of the biggest things our Orly Girlys say is that their luteal cravings feel SO much more manageable when they’re consistently eating balanced, hormone-supportive meals. Spots for next week close tonight!🤍 🔗 in bio
