I can’t even begin to tell you how long it’s been since I’ve had over a month off without studying, Anki reviews, or work in the back of my mind. I couldn’t be more grateful for 5 weeks off to frolic, explore the world, and relax before jumping into full-time attendinghood on September 8th.
First stop on the itinerary: a whirlwind 3 days in Cape Town, South Africa 🇿🇦
- My Trtl Travel travel pillow, SIGVARIS GROUP USA compression socks, and HYDRINITY hypochlorous acid spray (not sponsored, just all travel essentials in my book!) held me down for the 15-hour flight, plus two unexpected pit stops in San Juan, PR and Hartford, CT with the absolute best crew 🙂↕️
- Enjoyed loads of local and Cape Malay cuisine (a blend of Malaysian, Indonesian, Dutch, and local influences)
- Toured, and hiked?!?! yes, you read that correctly… hiked 🤭, the Cape of Good Hope alongside travelers from around the world, and stumbled upon native birds, plants, and the most stunning views! (Sadly, the Table Mountain cable car was down for seasonal maintenance while I was there, so obviously I need to make my way back!)
- Saw the penguins at Boulders Beach 🐧, as well as baboons and ostriches in their natural habitats
- Spent time exploring the exhibits at the Zeitz Museum Of Contemporary Art Africa Museum of Contemporary Art Africa with Demi Isabela, wandered Sea Point, and took in the V&A Waterfront
Also, please don’t think I forgot to post all of my graduation content and photos - I promise, I have plenty to share after I make my way home 🥰
