✨ What changes when you have confidence, competence & clarity in infant OT? ✨
This picture is me 15 years ago - an uncertain but passionate therapist who felt completely lost with infants. I had the heart for it, but not the skills or confidence.
Fast forward to today, and I can tell you from experience - when you finally develop all 3 C’s, everything changes. And I mean EVERYTHING.
Here’s what I see happen:
🔥 You stop avoiding infant referrals - Instead of that pit in your stomach, you actually get excited about the challenge
🔥 Sessions flow differently - When baby starts crying, you know exactly why and what to do about it
🔥 Parents trust you instantly - Your confidence shows, and they feel safe asking the hard questions
🔥 You spot things others miss - That subtle asymmetry at 4 months? You catch it early when intervention matters most
🔥 Documentation becomes easy - You know what to look for, so you know what to write
🔥 You become THE person - Colleagues start asking YOU the infant questions
The biggest change? You go from feeling like an imposter to feeling like an expert. Because you ARE an expert.
One of my mentees told me: “I used to dread infant evaluations. Now I’m the one they call when no one else knows what’s going on.”
That’s the power of having all 3 C’s working together.
What would YOU do differently if you felt completely confident with infants? 👇
