A little unexpected New Yorker moment.

I recently attended a meet-up of end-of-life doulas organized by Emma Acker, at Sparrow Funeral Home in Greenpoint. I was there because my work with older adults in memory care often intersects with questions of aging, transition, and end-of-life care.

New Yorker writer Alexandra Schwartz was also at the gathering while reporting her feature on the growing field of death doulas. As we went around the room introducing ourselves and our work, I shared that while I’m not a death doula, I provide Reiki and sound-based wellness experiences for older adults, including those living with Alzheimer’s and dementia.

I had the pleasure of joining Nathalie Jaspar Dive Into Reiki to share my journey into Reiki, the evolution of my practice, and how I came to specialize in working with older adults and individuals living with Alzheimer's disease and dementia.

We talk about the power of presence in Reiki, the profound lessons I've learned from my clients, and how this practice has helped me gently unravel emotional patterns within myself.

It was a thoughtful conversation about healing, connection, and the ways Reiki continues to shape both my personal life and professional work.
