first time making Trinidadian dishes, I don’t know if it was the way it should be but it was so delicious. I used pure maple sugar crystals and ketchup instead of regular brown sugar and ketchup. wild caught red snapper, lentils instead of green pigeon peas and hearts of palm rice as requested by my client. love trying out new cuisines and flavors . in training.

May 1st ✨.

It’s so easy to forget to take care of ourselves sometimes. But remember, change never happens overnight, it sometimes takes months, even years to see long lasting and meaningful change. And sometimes we take steps backwards then back forward again.

But every choice we make is a step towards our goals. Instant gratification is not a bad thing, but over time, each choice can add up.

This week, to take care of my gut, I tried to incorporate more whole meals and not miss breakfast, lunch or dinner. This wholesome, nourishing bowl was just that. White rice, salmon, seaweed, shredded carrots., cilantro, sesame seeds, kimchee, garlic aioli.
White rice doesn’t bother my gut like brown rice does 🍚 . Although brown rice is a “health food,” its tough outer bran is high in insoluble fiber, which can act like aggressive on a sensitive digestive lining.

For me, choosing white rice is a step toward a happier belly. Gut health isn’t about following every rule—it’s about finding what works for you.
