Sometimes the default roadmap to achieve “happiness” leaves us feeling lost. What works for the status quo doesn’t always serve the individual. We each have our own path, and activating our brain’s feel-good neurotransmitters looks different for everyone. Here’s your reminder that your well-being belongs to you.

Happiness is a practice: the more you seek it out, the easier it becomes to find. Even in small, everyday moments.

And not every week is filled with opportunities to experience joy – that’s ok. This is why it’s important to build up a bank of happy times to lean on. These photo memories can re-activate our brain’s feel-good neurotransmitters, causing us to feel the same positive emotions we did the first time around. You can start using the power of positive memories to improve your well-being with the Matter app (you know where the link is).

Odysseus may have endured an epic journey between Ithaca and Troy, but Christopher Nolan had an adventure of his own retelling this myth cinematically. Nolan’s creative process became a source of huge pleasure and excitement for millions of viewers.

Here’s a dose of good news to cleanse your palette.

This is the kind of memory that activates almost all of the brain’s feel-good neurotransmitters, which means you’ll remember it forever. Experiences that are emotionally rich are the ones we commit to our long-term memory.
