Feng Shui Manhattan provides wellness services and events that complement the environmental healing of your home and work space. May is International Drum Month and Mental Health Awareness Month. We have been teaming up with local libraries, non-profit organizations, schools, universities, corporations, health living boutiques, and community centers to provide wellness programs and experiences. Happy Star Wars Day, May the 4th be with you! Yoda is one of many uplifting visual themes in my household, inspired by the mindset of Feng Shui :)

Easy Feng Shui Tip for Modern-day Living:

Always be aware of your surroundings. Observe the subtle cues in how items, artwork, colors, patterns, textures, and photos could influence your mindset. We aim for uplifting cues. It's also important to note that environmental factors (i.e., light, sound, smell, the home's layout) play a role in cultivating a harmonious home as well. As we blend the teachings of Feng Shui with modern-day living, part of the formula for a happy home is cultivating a living environment that visually reflects your intentions (focuses), values, morals, interests, and personality. Being consciously connected to your home matters.

Remember, there is a lot more to the practice of Feng Shui than what has just been mentioned. However, this is a practical and accessible way to begin shifting your perspective.

Happy World Autism Awareness Day (April 2nd)! In honor of today, I've written an article that provides Feng Shui tips on how to establish a harmonious bedroom environment for autistic children. I overlap the principles of Feng Shui with Biophilic Design, Neurodivergent Design, and Environmental Psychology to offer tangible tips. The suggestions are from firsthand experience working with my clients, who are special education teachers and parents of neurodivergent children.

Today's office? Columbia University's School of Nursing in New York City. It was an honor and a joy to provide an hour-long Reiki Sound Bath to support the well-being of the Columbia University staff and nurses who were in attendance.

For this Reiki Sound Healing session, I utilized my travel-sized sound healing kit, all very compact, fitting into my trekking bag 🙂 Each instrument was carefully selected to shift the body from a stressed sympathetic state ("fight-or-flight") to a parasympathetic state ("rest-and-digest") during the Reiki Sound Healing session.

I'm happy to share that the event was well-received 🙂 Attendees left the session with smiles, calmer hearts, and asked the program organizers if they could do this every week 🙂 I look forward to facilitating the next Reiki Healing Sound Bath for Columbia University!

Yesterday, I had the pleasure of participating in the annual TOBAY Beach Dune Day, which was a hands-on environmental initiative to help stabilize beach dunes by planting dune grass. I really enjoyed this and found it to be extremely meditative and calming. It was also great to observe families, friends, coworkers, and individuals gather and steward the land.

After planting my bundle of dun grass, I continued my day's journey by visiting the Robert Moses State Park and trekked to the Fire Island Lighthouse, which is always a treat :)

Join Usui Reiki Master, Laura Cerrano, for a virtual community Reiki Healing Circle. Each gathering is dedicated to holding a safe space for releasing, sharing, reconnecting, healing, and restoring on an individual and global level. Each Reiki circle provides the group with an initial check-in, followed by a Reiki-guided meditation and healing to support the clearing and rebalancing of the chakras and auric bodies.

Feng Shui Manhattan has evolved significantly over the years, expanding its offerings beyond traditional Feng Shui services. We also provide wellness programs that support both the body and mind. Our approach includes a range of healing arts, such as dance, music-making programs (sound healing and drum circles), Reiki healing, meditation, and geopathic stress dowsing. Any of these programs can be customized for private and public events.

Yesterday, I enjoyed facilitating the Rhythm Sprouts Toddler Drum Circle at the Locust Valley Library in NY. The event offered a lively and engaging multisensory experience through drumming, movement, and singing! As a group, we explored tempo changes, dance and freeze drumming games, call and response drum patterns, story time with music making, and free-style drumming where parents/guardians and toddlers could drum to their heart's desire :)

To conclude the drum circle session, I introduced the group to the handpan, or as they referred to it, the "spaceship". The intention of this was to welcome in calming sounds. After playing the handpan, I invited some of our young drummers to play the handpan using a soft mallet. Those who participated did a great job sharing the opportunity to play with their fellow drummers and were very respectful of the instrument.

All drums and smaller percussion instruments are provided for each session. Registration allows one drum per caregiver/toddler.
We are in the process of scheduling additional Rhythm Sprouts Toddler Drum Circle sessions. Once we have that confirmed, I'll be sure to share!

In the meantime, we do have a K-2nd-grade drum circle program scheduled for May 6th, 2026, from 4-5pm.
