Over the last 10 years, we’ve invested in 48 research studies to advance care and improve quality of life for people with cerebral palsy and other disabilities.

In 2024, we funded a study to standardize how pain is identified and classified among adults with CP. As the number of adults with CP increases, pain management is an important priority. This study aims to characterize pain types and establish a straightforward protocol to help improve treatment options for adults with CP.

This study is one of many critical areas of research that we’re pushing forward. Want to stay in the loop on the latest in CP and disability research?

Calling all gamers! Who’s ready for some Good Trouble? 😈

There are over 600 million gamers with disabilities globally, but less than 5% of game companies are equipped to serve them.

Accessibility isn’t just about mobility or communication tools. It’s about creating a world where everyone can fully and authentically participate. As assistive technology evolves, creating social inclusion for people with disabilities is not only possible — it’s essential.

We’re proud to share that Good Trouble was named the 2025 Solly Rodan Award winner, recognized not just for their technology, but for how they show up for others. 🏆

Created by CPARF as part of the Remarkable US accelerator, the award honors innovators who pair bold ideas with a deep, human-centered commitment to the disability community. We are proving that the most powerful change happens when we build together.

Have you ever heard the phrase “Nothing About Us Without Us?” At CPARF, we know our work is most effective and meaningful when people with disabilities lead the way.

We fund technology and research innovations built by and for people with disabilities. We listen to and honor the experiences of people who have lived experiences with the challenges we’re addressing. We learn from the deep knowledge that comes from navigating the world with disabilities.

Together, we can build a more inclusive world. 💞

16% of the world’s population lives with disabilities, but many of those disabilities can’t be seen just by looking at someone.

We believe that everyone deserves full access and the ability to participate in the world around them, regardless of any disability.

You can help raise awareness about invisible disabilities. Share an example of how physical or social environments can create barriers for people with invisible disabilities in the comments. 🤔

Did you know that Indigenous communities have some of the highest rates of disability in the U.S.? Systemic change is needed to better address the needs of Native Americans with disabilities.

Since 2024, CPARF has been working alongside Indigenous tribes to expand access to life-changing assistive technologies.

Have you ever benefitted from accessible design that wasn’t necessarily designed with you in mind but still made your life a little easier?

Think:
🦽 Curb cuts (a ramp from a sidewalk’s curb to the street)
🗣️ Text-to-speech technology
♿ Automatic doors
🪥 Electric toothbrushes

Many assistive technologies have gone mainstream, benefitting everyone. We’re working toward a world where accessible technology is the standard.

What’s another example of assistive technology that has become widespread? Share your thoughts! ⬇️

REALITY: More than 1 billion people worldwide need assistive technology, yet only 10% can access the products they rely on to live, work, and move with independence.

When the disability community leads the way, innovation delivers real impact. That belief is at the heart of CPARF 💚. Too few organizations take this approach, which is what makes CPARF different: community-led solutions grounded in real needs, real expertise, and real possibility.
