Unlike massage, SI focuses not on the muscles but on their protective layer, called fascia (also known as connective tissue). Structural Integration aligns and balances the body by lengthening and repositioning the fascia. As fascia is lengt

hened it allows the muscles to move more efficiently. The continuing pull of gravity, the stress of daily activities and physical injuries can pull the body out of alignment. The fascia gradually shortens, tightens and adjusts to accommodate the misalignment. When the body is out of alignment it creates inefficiency and imbalance resulting in stiffness, discomfort and loss of energy.

Our bodies are constantly responding to our experiences—sometimes long after the mind has moved on.

Tension, holding, protective patterns, and habitual ways of moving can become part of how we navigate the world.

Through mindful touch, movement, breath, and awareness, we can begin to listen differently—to what the body is communicating and to what it may be ready to let go of.

Before and after session observation.

Following the session, there appears to be more length and organization through out the thoracolumbar area, with a more balanced relationship between the lower ribs, spine and pelvis.
The lumbar region shows a softer, less compressed quality, suggesting space and adaptability in the tissues. The change reflects an invitation toward greater ease and integration rather than imposed correction.

• More length and vertical organization through out the lumbar area.

• More symmetry around the waist and lumbar area.

• Lower rib / Thoracolumbar relationship.

• Pelvis spine relationship. A more centered relationship between pelvis and spine.

• Superficial tissue tone. Softer, more even distribution of the superficial tissues.

Just finished my 3-Series tune-up with Viviana about a week ago, and the difference has been incredible. When I started, I told Viviana that one of my legs felt like a wooden leg — heavy, stiff, and disconnected.

Today after leaving work, I started walking and didn’t even realize I had walked for almost an hour. My legs felt light, effortless, and fully connected, like I was gliding on one of those moving walkways at the airport. I truly feel like Viviana gave me my legs back.

After completing the 10-Series, I now see how important it is to do the 3-Series tune-up twice a year. It helps restore alignment, reconnect the body, and deepen the integration work over time. So grateful for this experience. Oscar Gutierrez
