Supporting healthy beginnings starts with supporting families. 💙

Public Health Solutions joined Assemblywoman Larinda C. Hooks and Councilwoman Shanel Thomas-Henry as they co-hosted their first-ever Community Baby Shower at the Queens Museum. PHS connected expecting and new parents to breastfeeding education, health and social services, and essential supplies like diapers.

Black Maternal Mental Health Week is a reminder that every parent deserves to be seen, heard, and supported.

Black mothers are more likely to experience perinatal mood and anxiety disorders, yet are less likely to receive the care they need. More than 40% of Black women in the U.S. report postpartum depressive symptoms, highlighting the urgent need for equitable, culturally responsive care.
